Note:-
If you require a faster completion time and you may request more staff form your painter and you may incur higher charges due to this .. simply for the convenience of time (CAUTION ). Generally all painters operate as single person or sometimes 2. This is simply your painter IS working on fully optimised condition, balancing time vs cost. Sometimes having more people doesn't mean fast finish , remember paint will take its own time to dry no mater how many people you employ, But yes.. sometimes you may achieve some significant time gains obviously with a higher cost than above estimations. Our expert advice is , leave this to the painters discretion. Remember your tradesmen also want to finish the job faster too, probably more than you do! Going out side of that you will most definitely increase your labour cost.
Cost of Materials:
Now then... in most cases above price do not reflect cost of materials, such as paint! This is down to customer choice of paint from low end to premium paint and material can change dramatically. Using your tradesmen to buy the materials for you may give you reasonable discounts and expert insights to products that you will never find out! Typically painters will show you the supplier's invoice for you to make sure that you only pay for what you bought . We never recommends you to mix labour bill with the material bill. Simply... cost of material is basically non negotiable and should never be compromised. Remember this is what you are getting on to your walls / surfaces for the next 5-6years before the next round of painting! By allowing your painter to use materials generously without cutting corners, you have simply invested your money wisely! Most painters always supply customers itemised material invoice separately for your checks and balances. So you only pay for what you bought or used and no hidden costs.
Sometimes you may ask for material price included in the invoice. Now ... be careful of this method. If you are looking for convenience and a straightforward billing, tradesmen typically tend to charge you double(2x) the estimated material cost! And they will not refund any excess if its under the cost. This is simply to cover any un intended costs they should run into! Effectively its risk mitigation for the trades person! Think of it as an insurance policy! So if you value more conversions over cost it will be a good option.

For services like exterior painting or interior wallpapering and ceiling painting, you can expect the following estimated costs:
Interior wallpapering medium-sized room typically cost between £375 to £450 can take 1 to 2 days
Interior wallpapering large-sized room typically cost between £500 to £650 can take up to 2 days
Exterior painting 3 bed semi-detached house typically cost between £1,800 to £2,300 takes 3 to 4 days
Exterior painting 4 bed detached house cost between £2,500 to £3,500 can take up to 5 to 7 days
Ceiling painting small room £350-420 about Half day

What drives the cost of interior wallpapering up is the time it takes the labourers to remove any old wallpaper or particularly gnarly old paint. If you can spare a few hours to remove this yourself, you can look to save some money off your trade quote.
When undertaking outdoor painting, it’s important to use masonry paint instead of your regular indoor paint. Masonry paint is specially formulated for external use and will stand up to the elements much better than anything you might use indoors.
Masonry paint can cover brick, concrete and various types of wall rendering, so if you want to change the colour of your property or just freshen up some lacklustre brickwork, embarking on some external painting can be just the answer.
